In some regions, hospitals located close to each other can be grouped to develop clinical research activities. Several of these hospitals or healthcare centers have already participated in clinical trials in collaboration with national and international institutions. SCI is working on structuring networks to facilitate the sharing of experience and expertise among these facilities.
The role of a Research Ethics Committee (REC) or an Independent Ethics Committee (IEC) is to ensure the rights, safety, and well-being of all participants in clinical trials. Special attention must be given to clinical trials that recruit vulnerable participants.
